Alyne Harris has lived in Gainesville Florida most of her life, while working
in a variety of domestic service jobs.As a self- taught African-American folk artist, she has continued to create art since childhood with the encouragement of her mother. Alyne often paints angels, religious imagery and memories of her childhood. Her work has been exhibited at the Art Museum ofAsheville, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Mennello American Art Museum.
