Baltimore
Glassman (1925-2003)
One of six children, Paul Darmafall aka, The Baltimore Glassman was born West Virginia to Polish parents. He served in the Navy during World War II. Glassman moved to Baltimore in the 1950's and worked as a steel grinder and bricklayer. He retired in 1976 and began making his mixed media assemblages in the early 80’s. A collection of over 200 works were exhibited in the “Fresh Air Cure" show at the at the Visionary Art Museum. |
